Vasitva – the power to control anything. siddhi
Vata– one of the three doshas, wind and gas. Vata – means “wind” literally. Va means movement. Vata is the source of both structure and function of the body. It is that which is represented by the five forms of the bodily currents: apana, udana, samana, vyana, apana. It is the initiator, controller,
companion, organizer, stimulant of many functions of body mind and spirit.
Vayus – wind, pranic current
Vedanta – philosophy; based on the teachings of the Vedas; the earliest Hindu scriptures.
Vedas – the most ancient sacred literature of the Hindus. Most ancient texts revealed to the sages and
saints of India which explain and regulate every aspect of life from supreme reality to worldly affairs.
Four in number: Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharava which are further divided into Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka and Upanishads.
Vicarana – Right inquiry. Pondered over what has been read and heard and has realized it in his life.

Vishuddhi – psychic and pranic center in the spine behind the throat and connected with the cervical
plexus, fifth chakra, tonsils and thyroid gland.
Vishnu granthi – Within the sushumna there are three granthis or psychic/pranic knots which prevent
the passage of kundalini shakti. Another is in anahata chakra and it causes the desire for emotional
security, expression and fulfilment. It is called Vishnu granthi.
