Udana – pranic air current in the area of the throat and face.
Uddiyana bandha – ‘flying upward’ or stomach lock
Ujjayi pranayama – psychic breath performed by contrasting the epiglottis producing a light sonorous
sound.
Umani– literally means no mind or without mind; state of Samadhi; consciousness devoid of finite mind.
Uttana kurmasana – the “lifted” tortoise pose.  Also known as Garbhasana (foetus pose).  Described in
