Pingala – on the right. Major nadi which conducts prana shakit. Emerges from the right side of
mooladhara opposite ida and intersects each of the chakras before reaching the right side of ajna. Also associated with the mundane realm of experience and externalized awareness.
Pitta – “to heat”. It is only the fire which in pitta brings on good and bad results, according to normal or abnormal conditions of the organs. The normal function of pitta causes: power of cognition, fire of
digestion, fresh complexion, clarity of thought, body temperature, hunger and thirst, and nimbleness of
mind.
Prakriti– the elemental, undifferentiated stuff of mind and matter; the primal cause; the energy by which all phenomena are projected.
Plavini pranayama – gulping breath in which air is swallowed into the stomach and retained
Prana – means energy; the vital energy which we draw into ourselves from the surrounding universe;
‘breath’ – vital force sustaining life and creation, permitting the whole of creation and existing in both the macrocosms and the microcosms. [praan]: life-force, breath, vital air that goes up.
Pranayama – a system of breathing exercises; Control of the prana
Prapti– the power to reach the proximity of even distant objects; Prakamya - the power to obtain what is desired; siddhi
Pratyahara – Withdrawal of the mind from sense objects.
